Congrats Gary Kessel ’77 on your upcoming induction!

Former East Stroudsburg University All-America wrestler Gary Kessel ’77  is one of seven individuals selected for induction in the National Wrestling Hall of Fame’s class of 2018, it was announced Thursday.

Kessel will be inducted in the organization’s “Meritorious Official” category, recognizing outstanding service as a referee, judge or official. Read more.

Renowned Italian artist coming to ESU Nov. 1-22

Impulsi, an exhibit of artworks by Giovanni Lombardini, one of Italy’s most renowned contemporary artists, will be featured November 1-22 at East Stroudsburg University’s Madelon Powers Gallery.

Lombardini’s pieces focus on light, color and reflection and derive from his experimental use of unusual materials such as paint fixatives and clear glossy acrylic applied to laminated plastic, wood and paper. Click here to learn more.

Tonight: Lecture Series features Sam Niedbala ’82

East Stroudsburg University launched the President’s Distinguished Entrepreneur Speaker Series in April with ESU alumnus and founder of Philly Pretzel Factory, Dan DiZio. The series will continue this semester with CEO of CryoConcepts, LP, one of the fastest growing technology companies in the field of cyro-based products for esthetics and medical use, and ESU graduate, Dr. Sam Niedbala ’82. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, October 24 at 7 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall.

A graduate of East Stroudsburg University’s chemistry program, Dr. Niedbala began his entrepreneurial endeavors in 1979 by launching his former company, OraSure Technologies, Inc., which developed the first rapid HIV test in the United States that was approved for use with blood and saliva and another product, OraQuick, an over-the-counter version of the same test. He was responsible for development of new products and technologies as well as over 70 approvals of new medical devices by the FDA.

Alumni invited to annual Remembrance Day program

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will hold its Remembrance Day program on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. to honor the memories of university students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends who died during the 2016-2017 academic year (August 22, 2016-August 21, 2017). The program will be held in the Beers Lecture Hall on the front circle of campus and will include musical selections and reflections by ESU students, faculty, staff and alumni.  Families of some of those who have passed will also attend and participate.  The event is open to all members of the university and local communities.

This will be the university’s 10th Remembrance Day program. The service will be followed by a reception and a time for fellowship. For more information contact Nancy Weaver, Ph.D., assistant to the vice president of student affairs at (570) 422-3461.

Welcome Home! Return to ESU for Homecoming Weekend


ESU Warriors will hit the red (and black) carpet for a Hollywood Homecoming! We’ve got a star-studded line-up of events for alumni of all ages. This year also marks milestone years for the Classes of 1957 and 1967 who are returning for their 60th and 50th anniversary celebrations. Go to to see the full schedule of events. Registration is underway for many events, including the Annual Alumni Awards and All Alumni Reunion Banquet being held at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
