We’re thrilled ESU’s students have returned!

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania welcomed 1,100 freshmen and transfer students to campus today, Friday, August 24, 2018. Student, faculty, staff and alumni volunteers were on campus to help students and their families move in to their residence halls. Among the volunteers was President of ESU, Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D.

By Sunday evening, approximately 2,800 students will be moved in to ESU, their home away from home for the academic year. Classes begin on Monday, August 27.

Monroe County update at upcoming economic summit

The sixth annual East Stroudsburg University Economic Outlook Summit will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 7:30 a.m. to noon in the Mattioli Recreation Center on the ESU campus. The theme for the 2018 Summit is “Monroe County: Where are we going? How will we get there?”

This year’s Summit will feature Ed Morrison, J.D., founder of the Strategic Doing Process and Director of the Purdue University Agile Strategy Lab, and Randal Pinkett, Ph.D., serial entrepreneur and chair and CEO of BCT Partners. READ MORE.

Feel Good Story! Class ring returned to granddaughter

What would you do if you found a college class ring more than 60 years old, buried under a tree in a county park?

You might try to imagine who the owner was, and how it got there. You might wonder if the owner was still around, and place a lost-and-found ad to see if anyone would claim it. Or you might sell it for the value of the gold — you could pocket $100 or so.

Check out the new turf going on the field!

East Stroudsburg University’s Eiler-Martin Stadium is in the midst of a regularly-scheduled FieldTurf replacement project early this summer, replacing the surface that was initially installed in summer 2008.

Tickets for 125th celebration now on sale

Tickets for East Stroudsburg University’s 125th Anniversary Celebration on October 25, 2018, are now available for purchase. Alumni, friends, and members of the community are invited to the celebration being held at Terraview at Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, Pa.

ESU President Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., will honor two individuals and an organization at the celebration, presenting the inaugural President’s Distinguished Medals to Robert M. Moses, William B. Congrats to our amazing lacrosse team!

Freshman attack Krista Mitarotonda scored six goals, sophomore goalkeeper Tatyana Petteway had 15 saves and senior midfielder Chessie Rahmer closed an All-America career as East Stroudsburg University’s historic 2018 women’s lacrosse season ended with a 20-14 loss to Florida Southern in the NCAA Division II semifinals on Friday at the University of Tampa. Cramer, Esq. of Stroudsburg, and the R. Dale and Frances M. Hughes Foundation of Stroudsburg. Exciting news on the ESSA & Hughes Field Complex!

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, Stroud Township Board of Supervisors, Stroudsburg Little League and the ESU Foundation broke ground for new baseball and softball fields at the ESSA & Hughes Field Complex at Creekview Park. The enhancements to the baseball and softball fields will accommodate the ESU Warriors baseball and softball teams and Stroudsburg Little League. The new, state-of-the-art fields are expected to be ready fall 2018 with the help of a fundraising campaign by the ESU Foundation and the department of athletics and a grant from the Local Shareholders Account.
